Mr. Matt Coe has been with Seniors Plus since November of 2013.  He earned his Master’s degree in Counseling from National-Louis University in 2014 and became certified as a National Certified Counselor.  I found a home with West 40 in the Seniors Plus Credit Recovery Program.  He could not be happier than to be able to serve local students and their families through such an energetic and growing organization.  He loves helping students complete their education and supporting them in this very exciting time in their lives, when there are so many choices and directions for them to go.  “I enjoy helping with college planning, job coaching, and sorting through the the daily situations that affect my students.  What I love most about my job is being able to show a student that they have the power to open a door that they thought was otherwise closed.”  Outside of work he enjoys playing and watching sports, as well as spending time with his wife and twin tornadoes, Braedyn and Mikayla.

Ms. Vanessa Pesina

Ms. Pesina has been with Seniors Plus since August of 2015.  Growing up she knew she wanted to be a teacher and share my love of learning.   Her parents have always taught her that making a positive impact on the world and pursuing education are very important.  Ms. Pesina received her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education-Biology from Saint Xavier University.  During college she completed her student teaching at Crete-Monee High School where she taught Biology and Anatomy.  One important thing she learned while in school was that we must always be life long learners; looking back on this saying inspires and motivates her to be the best teacher she can be.  Everyday she is grateful to be in the classroom teaching students new things and also learning from them.  “Seeing all their accomplishments, big and small, reminds me why it is necessary to show every student that they can succeed in life no matter what.”  When she is not in the classroom she also volunteers with youth in the community.
